August 31, 2001 - Labor Day Weekend Eve

The day is not over so I cannot say for sure if has been good or bad. On the whole, I think that it has been good because I am adding this lil' bit of content to MattScott. I know your expectations are high. You probably got to our site by searching for MattScott5000 on Google, Welcome. I highly recommend you check out this link if you want to read a great press release on our admittance to the elite world of Google. The Help Desk was calm today, and Matt, my roommate, was very surly. This probably had something to do with his lack of fiber (we all know what that will do to a person). The internet was broken this afternoon. Seriously, the whole damn information superhighway was buckling under the academic tires of the big black and gold bus that is the University of Iowa. Thankfully, I was one of the lucky blokes who got to explain to the diverse student and faculty population that it wasn't our fault. The idea of the ICN (Iowa Communications Network) was foreign to them, but after hearing my brilliant analogy the ICNbeing our bridge to that great dataverse, a.k.a. the .Net, they usually calmed down. I will be doing some casual drinking tonight, but obligations tomorrow will make sure that my behavior will be maintained at a professional level. Have a good Labor Day Weekend and if you take one thing from this entry it should be this: The cops have radar guns and breathalyzers so be careful.
